Community Development in Detroit - Hear from the practitioners!
Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD) is the citywide association of Community Development and Neighborhood based organizations. This session will provide attendees the opportunity to hear from the actual practitioners doing community development work in neighborhoods across the city, learning about the communities they serve, their successes and challenges.

Community Development Young Professionals
This session draws Young Professionals together to: exchange ideas for community development programs and projects; explore strategies for drawing younger people into local community development functions; facilitate interaction among students, young practitioners, and faculty; draw students into the community development profession; and encourage involvement in the CDS.

Should Native Equity Matter in the Revitalization of Major Cities?
Unlike social and economic equity, native equity is not considered in community development projects. Native equity is when the professional team that is designing or planning the development is inclusive of native residents from the targeted area. The question for community development practitioners is does native equity matter in redevelopment.

Overcoming hurdles to promote digital inclusion for all
Digital inclusion is vital to promoting community growth. Often, though, the information needed to identify gaps is lacking at a local level, and the benefits of improving digital literacy are difficult to define, let alone measure. We will discuss how to make digital inclusion part of your successful planning efforts.
