Creating a Collective Image for Community and Meaning Using the Visual Arts
Engage in hands-on creation of a collage of community development to be pieced together with those from 2015 for a 50th CDS Anniversary quilt. Explore how the process can be used with communities to foster cohesion and identity and to create “data” about the community. No artistic talent needed.

During Beer, Bonding, and Building Community, participants will build community among CDS members over a couple of pints at three local Detroit breweries. Participants will hear first-hand from local brewers about the start of their brewery and their impact on their local neighborhood.
